## New Features in 4HSE: Notifications and Digests

The **latest update** of 4HSE, the health and safety management system, revolutionizes and improves the entire **notification system**, offering maximum customization to suit your needs.

The new features allow you to:

- Define **notification preferences** at the project and location level for the following sections: PPE, training, appointments, maintenance, procedures, and health surveillance.
- Define **who** will receive **notifications** and **digests** (summaries of upcoming activities and deadlines).
- Set the **notification delivery frequency**.

### Custom Notifications: How to Configure Them

Let’s take a closer look at how to configure personalized notifications and digests.

- From the user menu at the bottom right, click on **Preferences**.

- This opens the Preferences window, where you can define the **notification areas** by project(s) and location(s) by clicking _New_.

- In short, select which projects or locations you want to activate notifications and/or digests for, then click **Save** to confirm.

- After selecting the notification areas (projects and locations), in the lower section, click _New_ to open the **Add Notification Preference** window. Here you can set:

    - The **section** for which you want to receive notifications (PPE, training, appointments, maintenance, procedures, or health surveillance)
    - The **event type** (expiration or scheduled activity)
    - The **user roles** that should receive the notifications
    - The **time interval** (daily, weekly, or monthly)
    - The **notification type** (simple notification or digest)
